This project will see a full renovation of the main station building – the old Red Star building – the internal concourse and improvements to the taxi rank/drop off area at Skegness railway station.

New facilities will include a community café, community space that can be booked by the public, commercial units for businesses and start up office units. There will also be new toilet facilities, including parent and baby and Changing Places facilities. The waiting rooms will be refurbished.

There will also be upgrades to the security systems, WIFI and customer information that is available in digital formats. There will be improvements outside to the concourse area, station access, wayfinding – such as signs – and better provision for taxis and cycles.

As a result of the works, the station will become a spectacular gateway to the town and the Lincolnshire coast and will also offer facilities for the local community.
