Connected Coast and East Midlands Railway have confirmed their continued commitment to the exciting transformation of Skegness railway station.
The station is set to offer a better experience and more community facilities through an extensive renovation programme, with significant improvements having taken place already.
Work to date has seen a complete refurbishment of the derelict building on the front of the station to create a new waiting area, ticket office, retail units and facilities for staff.
In addition, outside new lighting and CCTV have been fitted on the concourse and platforms.
Now, with changes to contractor arrangements taking place, Connected Coast and East Midlands Railway have confirmed their continued commitment to the refurbishment.
”"We remain fully committed to the redevelopment of Skegness station and are very excited about the customer and wider community benefits this project will deliver. We are working swiftly to appoint a new delivery partner to ensure construction is completed as soon as possible."
East Midlands Railway spokesperson
”“Through this redevelopment, not only will travellers be afforded a better experience and welcome to the town, the community will also benefit from new and improved facilities.
