Members of Connected Coast board have had the opportunity to see for themselves the first Town Deal project to be completed in Mablethorpe.
The new state-of-the-art Station Leisure and Learning Centre has been created to bring transformational health and wellbeing opportunities to local residents and has benefitted from £7.5M of Towns Fund investment.
A four lane swimming pool, cutting edge fitness equipment, and an outdoor play area for the community are amongst the facilities on offer at the centre which has been delivered by East Lindsey District Council and is operated by Magna Vitae.
Now, Connected Coast board members have taken a tour of the new site to view the culmination of the project which has long been an aspiration for the town.
The Board has been working towards the creation of this new centre since 2020 when it formed part of our Town Investment Plan which we submitted to government.
We knew from consultation and engagement that this was a priority for local people, and so, to now be able to see this project translated from a plan into reality is really fantastic.
This is just one of our exciting projects in the area which wil bring huge benefits to the local community.
The Connected Coast board is really proud to have played a part in the development of such an important resource for Mablethorpe, and we can see that it

is already a great success.
We are so grateful to everyone who has helped to realise the ambition of this project for Mablethorpe.
It is really good to have such a high-quality facility in the town, and one that represents a much-valued and much-needed addition to the local community.
We look forward to seeing the difference that the new centre will make for Mablethorpe, now, and in the years to come.”
Prebendary Adrian Benjamin Chair of the Connected Coast Mabelthorpe Sub-Group
The creation of Station Leisure & Learning Centre is a great example of what can be achieved by working in partnership. Mablethorpe now has a state-of-the-art health and fitness facility the town can be proud of and it is just fantastic to see how it is already benefitting local people.
For the first time, people in Mablethorpe have access to a swimming pool and state- of-the-art fitness facilities without the need to travel, giving more people the opportunity to learn to swim and keep active.
I’m delighted that with the support of the Connected Coast board, East Lindsey District Council has been able to provide this high-quality facility that will transform the health and wellbeing of local people and create new opportunities.

The Station Leisure and Learning Centre is just one of the multi-million pound projects being delivered for the area. This summer, Acis Group was announced as the operator of the nearby Campus for Future Living, and in Mablethorpe town centre, improvements to town centre buildings are progressing well in a project delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire
A little further away, construction is moving forward on the Colonnade at Sutton-on- Sea, and work recently began by the National Trust on the transformation of the former golf course at Sandilands into a wetland nature reserve. Town Deal funding is supporting the development of a new accessible visitor hub at Sandilands.
