This project by the National Trust will bring an accessible and eco-friendly visitor hub to the new developing nature reserve at Sandilands.

The building will be a base from which people can explore the developing Sandilands Nature Reserve and nearby coastline. A visitor reception will offer a friendly welcome and the building will serve food and drink. It will provide important facilities such as toilets and changing places.

From the hub, visitors will go on a nature journey by exploring the wetland wildlife habitats of the reserve, something that will grow as the project develops.

It is expected that a range of jobs and volunteering opportunities will become available because of the project, including outdoor ranger roles and welcome team roles. Local people with an interest in conservation and land management will be able to gain new skills, knowledge and experience and make their own lasting impact on the reserve.
